It should make for a great episode of Hooked on OC! Collin Macomber caught his first blue marlin on 30# stand up and we estimated it around 300 or so pounds and Andy Urban caught a blue marlin that we estimated at 200-250 pounds. We had a fantastic day of fishing boxing a 29″ yellowfin tuna, two peanut mahi and releasing two blue marlin. I got to get offshore for the first time this season today for a new episode of Hooked on OC aboard my buddy Curtis Macomber’s Stalker with Captain Steve Moore.

Captain Joe Drosey of Rhonda’s Osprey was fortunate enough to get jumped on by seven bigeye tuna (eyeballs) and was fortunate enough to land four of those for a great day in the deep. Offshore fishing wasn’t in trouble today as the fleet was in the Washington Canyon and fishing was good once again. It looks to bring some much needed rain and some cooler temps, but when temps drop from the mid 90s to the mid 70s there is going to be some wind involved. Offshore fishing looks to be in trouble this weekend as a forecasted cold front is due to move through the area and rough things up off the beach. The awesome fishing continues on another day where there was good marlin and mahi fishing off in the canyons with some nice bigeye tuna in the mix, and some more really good inshore and bay fishing with a terrific flounder bite topping the list.
